Elizabeth Wirmani is an experienced litigator that uniquely blends a diverse legal practice with over a decade of direct business experience. Ms. Wirmani focuses her practice on corporate reorganizations, bankruptcy and insolvency-related matters, and other complex disputes that require sophisticated strategic and legal skill.

Ms. Wirmani began her career at Baker Botts L.L.P., where she focused on complex commercial matters, including contract enforcement, energy litigation, securities litigation, adversary proceedings in bankruptcy court, and trade secret and trademark litigation. Ms. Wirmani also provided substantial counsel to a wide range of clients on employment law matters, franchise disputes, and appellate matters. She has practiced before state courts, federal courts, appellate courts, and various administrative bodies.

Prior to joining the firm in 2023, Ms. Wirmani was the Chief Operating Officer of a Dallas-based nonprofit. In that role, Ms. Wirmani gained extensive experience leading all core business functions, including governance, operational management/resource optimization, strategic design and planning, innovation and scale design, data management and evaluation, program management, risk evaluation and mitigation, finance, legal, human resources, and information technology.

With this experience, Ms. Wirmani brings an informed legal and business perspective to every representation. She has a proven record of creative and strategic problem-solving, as well as an ability to motivate diverse audiences towards collective solutions. 

  • • Counsel to largest unsecured creditor in chapter 11 cases of project finance entities that were created for the construction of ultra-deep water drilling rig

    • Counsel to a national mining company in adversary proceedings brought under bankruptcy law, including significant briefing for confirmation hearing

    • Counsel to a regional medical services group in an arbitration enforcing company policies and formation documents against members of the professional association

    • Counsel to an international service provider related to a billion-dollar asset sale, including advice regarding disclosure statements, various employment agreements, and domestic and international privacy laws

    • Counsel to an international exploration company in defense of a billion-dollar claim involving fraud, negligent misrepresentation, and breach of fiduciary duty in connection with a multi-billion-dollar asset sale

    • Counsel to a national telecommunications company in defense against various age, race, and workers’ compensation discrimination claims, including briefing summary judgment motions, presenting mediation opening statement, and negotiating settlements

    • Counsel to regional consumer service companies defending against race and religion discrimination claims in front of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission

    • Counsel to a regional electrical service company in day-to-day representation against breach of employment agreement claims, including witness interviews, trial strategy development, mediation, and settlement negotiations

    • Counsel to a national consumer product franchisor to secure temporary injunctive relief related to a defaulting franchisee and prosecute breach of contract claims against franchisee in state court

    • Counsel to a national franchisor in defense against claims of breach of contract, fraud and tortious interference relating to system requirements resisted by major franchisee

    • Counsel to a regional franchisor to achieve a favorable resolution a declaratory judgment action attacking major franchisee's claims of breach of contract relating to franchisor's system requirements, resulting in a favorable restructuring of the relationship as well as resolution of claims of restraint of trade and price discrimination

    • Counsel to a national pharmaceutical manufacturer in defense against class action and products liability claims

    • Counsel to the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States in defense of the Mojave Desert Veterans Memorial, including briefing to the United States Supreme Court
